1929, une petite ville du Kansas. Deux lycéens, Bud, fils d’un riche propriétaire et Deanie, fille d’un petit actionnaire, sont passionnément attirés l’un par l’autre et souhaitent se marier. Mais les préjugés sociaux sont trop forts et les parents s’opposent à cette union.

It is 1929 in a small town in Kansas. Two high school students, Bud, the son of a rich owner, and Deanie, the daughter of a smalltime shareholder, are passionately in love and want to get married. However, the social prejudices of the time are too great and their parents are opposed to their union.
