Au printemps 2009, Michel Ciment et Philippe Pilard rendent visite à John Boorman qui les reçoit chez lui en Irlande. John Boorman évoque pour eux sa carrière, son enfance (ressuscitée dans Hope and Glory, 1987), ses débuts, quelques-uns de ses films : Point Blank (1967) et sa rencontre avec Lee Marvin, Marcello Mastroianni dans Leo the Last (1970), le mythique Excalibur (1981), etc. Et aussi The Tiger's Tail (2006), avec Brendan Gleeson, où Boorman anticipe la crise financière qui a, depuis, frappé l'Irlande !

Le festival a rendu hommage à John Boorman en 1978.

In the spring of 2009, Michel Ciment and Philippe Pilard paid a visit to John Boorman, who welcomed them into his home in Ireland. Boorman talks about his career, his childhood (revived in Hope and Glory, 1987), his beginnings and some of his films: Point Blank (1967) and his meeting with Lee Marvin, Marcello Mastroianni in Leo the Last (1970), and the legendary Excalibur (1981). Not to mention The Tiger's Tail (2006), starring Brendan Gleeson, in which Boorman prophesised the financial crisis that has since hit Ireland!

The festival paid a tribute to Jogn Boorman in 1978.
