Résumé

Propriétaire ruiné du Sud, Archie Lee Meighan a épousé une femme enfant, Baby Doll, qu’il ne pourra toucher qu’après ses vingt ans. La veille de son anniversaire, il reçoit la visite de Silva, un voisin sicilien. Celui-ci est venu enquêter sur Archie qu’il soupçonne d’être un incendiaire…
