Près de la gare d’une petite ville indienne, des gens modestes, d’horizons très différents, sont saisis dans l’intimité de leur logis. La caméra nous fait ainsi partager un bref instant de leur existence.

Gaarud est le récit d’un lieu à la fois refermé sur luimême et ouvert sur le monde, où les destins individuels s’inscrivent dans une Inde à visages multiples.

Near the station in a small Indian town, people of humble origin and with very different backgrounds are filmed in the privacy of their home. The camera allows us to share a brief instant in their lives.

Gaarud tells the tale of a place that is both shut off from the world and looks out to it, where individual destinies are woven into the fabric of a many-faced India.
