Résumé

Anna, une adolescente de 14 ans, quitte l’internat et retrouve son village. Elle doit profiter des vacances pour faire sa confirmation, dernière étape dans son engagement catholique. À son arrivée, elle découvre que son père vient de quitter la maison. Sa mère, effondrée par cet abandon, trouve refuge auprès d’un prêtre, ami de longue date. Anna se raccroche à son grand-père, qu’elle adore. Elle se rapproche aussi de Pierre, un adolescent libre et solaire, qui se soucie peu de Dieu. Mais la naissance de son désir pour ce garçon la fait vaciller. Une part secrète d’elle-même cherche à se donner corps et âme à Dieu ou à quelque chose d’autre...

Fourteen-year-old Anna leaves her boarding school and returns to her village home. She is to be confirmed during the holidays as part of the final step in her commitment to the  Catholic faith. Upon her arrival she discovers that her father has left home. Her mother is devastated and finds refuge with a local priest, a long-standing friend. Anna clings to her  beloved grandfather. She also becomes closer to Pierre, a free-spirited teenager with a positive outlook and little time for God. Her budding feelings for Pierre shake Anna’s faith. Deep  down she longs to give herself body and soul to God, or maybe to something else…
